How to Play Pipes

Objective

Rotate the pipe tiles so that all pipes connect to form a single continuous network. The puzzle is solved when every pipe end connects to another pipe, with no closed loops and no disconnected sections.

The Rules

  • 1.Single network: All pipes must be connected together. There should be no isolated groups.
  • 2.No loops: The pipe network must form a tree structure. Closed loops are not allowed.
  • 3.No dead ends: Every pipe opening must connect to another pipe. No pipe can point to an empty cell or off the grid.
  • 4.Rotate only: You can only rotate tiles. You cannot move them to different positions.

Pipe Types

End Pipe

Single opening. Often at the edge of the network.

Straight Pipe

Two openings on opposite sides. Connects cells in a line.

Corner Pipe

Two openings at 90 degrees. Creates turns in the network.

T-Junction

Three openings. Branches the network into multiple paths.

Tips & Strategies

  • Start from the edges: Pipes at the edge of the grid have fewer possible connections, making them easier to solve.
  • Look for end pipes: End pipes (single opening) must connect to exactly one neighbor, which limits their rotation options.
  • Avoid creating loops: If rotating a pipe would create a closed loop, that rotation is incorrect.
  • Use the lock feature: Right-click to lock tiles you're confident about. This helps you focus on remaining tiles.
  • Connected pipes turn green: Properly connected pipes change color to help you track your progress.
